On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, His Excellency Dr. Tareef bin Youssef Alaama, President of King Abdulaziz University, officially launched the University’s annual awareness campaign titled “My Custody, My Responsibility.” Organized by the Department of Inventory Control, the campaign aims to foster a culture of accountability and highlight the importance of protecting university property and public resources. The launch ceremony was held at the President’s Office.

The event began with an introductory video presentation, followed by a detailed overview of the campaign delivered by Mr. Talal bin Mohammed Al Ahmed, Director of the Inventory Control Administration, together with Ms. Nisreen Al-Samdani, Deputy Director. They outlined a diverse range of awareness and educational activities planned for the campaign, including specialized training courses, on-site inspection tours, and the release of explanatory digital brochures and newsletters.

Spanning a full month, the campaign targets all sectors and staff of the university. It seeks to raise awareness about the importance of asset stewardship, reduce waste, and minimize the loss or damage of custodial items.

As part of the initiative, two key resources will be introduced: the “Administrative Manager’s Manual” and the “New Employee Manual.” These Manuals aim to enhance awareness of custodial responsibilities, clarify procedures for asset receipt and transfer, and guide staff on proper handling in accordance with relevant government regulations.

To reinforce daily engagement, the campaign will also feature informative email bulletins distributed to university personnel. These will address key concepts related to asset custody, outline standard procedures, highlight common mistakes, and include a training video on how to manage lost or damaged items.

The campaign will also clarify the formal protocols that govern cases of asset loss or damage. It will outline step-by-step procedures, define the responsibilities of relevant departments, and describe the formation of oversight committees and field inspections. These efforts will lead to the submission of detailed reports to the Administration of Inventory Control, strengthening the university’s commitment to safeguarding its assets and upholding the responsible use of public funds.
